Let's Get Lochside & Lincluden Sporty
Let's Get Sporty piloted activities in Lochside and Lincluden as part of the very first stages of Our Place and proved very popular.
This project is due to start in Summer 2018 and will initially run for five years.
- A full-time development worker will be based in Lochside and Lincluden
- They will deliver 16 hours a week of classes and activities for all ages and abilities
- They will support existing local clubs to publicise what they do and help them take on new volunteers
- They will encourage clubs to work together, for example, to offer yoga to mums while they wait for their kids playing football
- They will ensure activities are engaging people who wouldn't class themselves as 'sporty'
- They will offer a wider range of classes e.g. for women only, intergenerational, retired people etc
- They will offer free and subsidised classes for anyone who needs it
Next Steps
The final stage of the application will go to the Big Lottery's Approval Committee this spring - watch this space and we'll announce if it successful or not as soon as we hear!
