Creative Futures
Creative Futures was established in 2016 in Lochside and Lincluden by the Stove Network. It is a 4 year funded project which will use the arts and creativity to provide opportunities for all people living within Lochside and Lincluden to increase their confidence and self esteem, develop their skills and try out new experiences.
What's it all about?
The Stove Network responded to the need to celebrate heritage and culture identified by our community listening activities, by founding Creative Futures a year ago.
Creative Futures works with many other local organisations to create opportunities for local people to build their skills and experience of art, culture and heritage They regularly hold community events for all ages and abilities and work with other groups within the region to maximise opportunities for Lochside and Lincluden residents. They link history, culture and community and create really fun activities for all. Much of the project's success depends on local people becoming Trainee Creative Producers. This ensures the project is tailormade to local needs, and once trained, the TCPs will be able to carry on developing activities after the formally funded part of the project ends, leaving a creative cultural legacy for years to come.
